Planning to plant trees this winter? Submit your complete EWCO application by 30 June to stay on track for the 2025–26 season, says the Forestry Commission.
Planning to plant trees this winter under the England Woodland Creation Offer (EWCO)? Make sure your application is in by 30 June 2025 if you want to be ready for the 2025–26 planting season.
The Forestry Commission has advised that only complete, eligible applications submitted by the end of June will be prioritised for agreement offers in time for winter planting. If you miss that date—or still have missing information—they can’t guarantee you’ll get the green light this year.
Already applied and received a request for more information? You’ll need to respond by 30 June to keep things moving.
EWCO applications will still be accepted after June, but these may fall into next season’s timeline.
This deadline doesn’t apply to the Woodland Creation Fast Track route, which continues to aim for agreement offers within 12 weeks of a valid, complete submission—regardless of when you apply.
Need help understanding what counts as a complete EWCO application? Or want to speak to someone before submitting? You can always contact the Forestry Commission directly via EWCO@forestrycommission.gov.uk or ring them on 0300 067 4177. You can also speak to your local Land Use Adviser for pre-application support.
At AskGrant, we’re here to help you navigate woodland creation and find the funding routes that work for your land. Need a second pair of eyes on your application? Just give us a shout.
